Claude’s view
1. Positron (Application Specific Semiconductors) - $75.08M
Why it's fascinating: This is the largest deal in the batch, and Positron is building custom hardware specifically for AI inference - a critical infrastructure play as AI models become more demanding. Located in Lovelock, Nevada (an unusual tech hub), they're targeting the massive bottleneck of running large language models efficiently. With top-tier investors like Atreides Management, DFJ Growth, and Valor Equity Partners backing them, this suggests serious conviction in purpose-built AI chips becoming essential infrastructure.
2. Deep Cogito - $13M
Why it's intriguing: Despite being one of the smaller rounds, Deep Cogito has perhaps the most ambitious mission - building "general superintelligence." Their approach using "hybrid reasoning" for complex tasks like coding and STEM problem-solving suggests they're taking a differentiated technical approach from other AI companies. With only 3 employees raising $13M from Benchmark Capital Holdings, this represents enormous per-employee valuation and suggests either breakthrough technology or exceptional founding team credentials.
3. ARX (Aerospace and Defense) - $49.19M
Why it's compelling: ARX represents the intersection of two massive trends - autonomous systems and European defense sovereignty. Based in Germany and backed by NATO Innovation Fund alongside top European VCs, they're building unmanned ground systems for both military and civilian first responders. The timing is particularly relevant given current geopolitical tensions and Europe's push for defense independence. The dual-use nature (military + civilian) also provides multiple market opportunities.
These three deals represent different strategic bets: critical AI infrastructure (Positron), frontier AI research (Deep Cogito), and geopolitically relevant defense technology (ARX) - each addressing fundamental technology shifts happening right now.
